It was distilled back in 1990 and aged for 28 years in Bourbon barrels before it was finished in a single Portuguese Purple Muscat French Oak cask for an extra 4 years. Only 283 bottles were yielded. This is a truly exceptional, unmatched Single Malt. Master Distiller Alex Chasko sourced the Portuguese Purple Muscat barrel from outside of Lisbon in the Setubal region where he picked a toasted French Oak cask for its rich berry and fruit notes. If you’re looking for a fruity Single Malt Irish Whiskey that carries a unique combo of red berry flavor with spicy tropical notes that you can’t find anywhere else, this is your dram.
NOSE: Ripe red fruits in caramel with chocolate walnuts and vanilla cream aromas.TASTE: Dried cherries, plums, sultanas, and figs with warm dry wood tannins.FINISH: Strong wood spice with a rich, caramel fudge and milk chocolate sweetness.
