Powers Irish Whiskey Three Swallow is a triple distilled single pot still Irish Whiskey. Being a single pot still style (formerly pure pot still) they employ the use of both malted and unmalted barley and distilled in a copper pot still, never a column still.
Powers Irish Whiskey Three Swallow’s nose is a bit more aggressive than expected, particularly from the typically soothing Powers, owing in large part to that sherry finishing. Nutty, with notes of citrus peel and a heavy, growing earthiness, the aroma of the whiskey is almost overwhelming at times, evoking thoughts of coal mines and chimney soot
